Brad Glas, P.Eng.

Brad Glas, P.Eng.

Brad began his petroleum career in 1997 after earning his Engineering Degree from the University of Saskatchewan. With a start at Amoco/BP Canada, Brad was trained in both drilling and completions with various projects across Western Canada, including remote postings in Argentina and the Canadian Arctic.

He continued to pursue engineering, superintendent, and management opportunities at a variety of companies on the way to his arrival at Innov8 Group.

Brad has a broad range of engineering experience in all areas of well engineering and operations. He has earned a reputation for delivering top tier results on any assigned project and is tasked with unique and challenging assignments. Brad is an excellent project manager and works together with our other staff members to deliver robust engineered solutions for all our clients.

Outside of work Brad enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, often in a lawn chair beside the fire telling stories about fishing and old broomball injuries.

Troy Witwicki, C.E.T.

Troy Witwicki, C.E.T.

Troy is a completions specialist with 22 years of oilfield experience including 13 years as a frac specialist. Prior to joining Innov8, Troy held numerous positions at frac operating/engineering companies and worked directly with multiple E&P companies. He has a strong technical background in frac operations, frac engineering, and analysis, and a broad range of experience in completion engineering and project management.

Troy is committed to delivering quality completions designs, stimulation designs, and execution, while creating a cost-effective approach that provides Innov8 Group with industry-leading completion excellence.

Outside of work Troy enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and swimming.

John Burnell, P.Eng.

John Burnell, P.Eng.

John is a professional Engineer who has been working in oil & gas over the past 30 years. John graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1985 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and with a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Calgary in 1992. John was a founder and managing partner with Hawkeye Engineering Inc. for 10 years, prior to merging Hawkeye with the Innov8 Group in 2019. Focused on drilling and completions engineering, John also worked several years each for Deadeye Engineering and Chevron Canada. John also worked for 10 years in the software industry with Hewlett-Packard (Canada) as a SCADA product manager.

John offers our clients a diligent, conscientious approach to managing their drilling operations. Decades of drilling experience combined with focus on continuous improvement with the latest drilling and data capture technologies ensure optimal drilling results for our customers.

John is married with 2 children and spends his off hours with them skiing, camping, and practicing martial arts. John is also a dedicated veteran, fourth line grinder in Calgary oil industry hockey circles, and is personally responsible for hundreds of oil patch golf balls deposited in wooded areas surrounding Calgary’s golf courses.

Trevor is a senior Petroleum Engineer with a strong specialty in drilling. He brings 25+ years of engineering, management, and superintendent experience from previous positions held at Burlington/ConocoPhillips, Sasol, and Luecrotta. Trevor’s education begain with the Petroleum Engineering Program at SAIT, followed by his Petroleum Engineering Degree in 2002 from Montana Tech, and his exective MBA from the U of C, Haskayne School of Business.

Trevor is a resourceful and target-focused professional that is motivated to drive forward operational excellence. He is committed to strategic decision making, pragmatic and analytical problem-solving, and diligent management, mitigation, and communication of risk in all project lifecycle stages.

Dwayne Glas, C.E.T.

Dwayne graduated in 2017 from Southern Institute of Technology (SAIT), in Petroleum Engineering Technology and has over 6 years experience in the oil & gas industry. Before joining Innov8 Group, Dwayne was a welder for various oilfield companies, building drilling, and coil tubing rigs. His strong mechanical/technical background shines through his attention to detail. Although relatively new to the industry, Dwayne has been involved from start to finish on numerous completions operations.

Dwayne’s strengths of patience and perseverance have made him a valued team member at Innov8 Group. Dwayne’s diverse experience and professionalism shows in his commitment to Safety and Regulatory Compliance.

Away from work you can find Dwayne outside camping, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Joel Martinson

Joel Martinson

Joel has 27 years of drilling and completion related environmental experience in the oil and gas industry. He is very experienced with creating frac water plans, soil and water testing, drilling waste management, spill response and cleanup, and executing all aspects of completion planning. Joel has attended university at Mount Royal, Concordia, and Grant MacEwan. Joel manages a team of environmental and water consultants and has earned a strong reputation for developing economic water plans and providing operational assurance through to completion.

Joel is a very active community member in hockey, tennis, golf, volleyball, and various sports/social clubs. Joel is very family orientated and active with his 6 children and dog Migos.

Dave is a professional Engineer with over 29 years of oil & gas experience. Dave graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering. Prior to joining Innov8 Group, he worked on projects across the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin with CanHunter, Burlington, Pioneer, Cordero, Ember, Caltex, Crew, Manitok, Birchcliff, and Bellatrix. Dave’s diverse engineering and operation background in drilling, completions, production, workovers, and abandonments is a valuable asset to Innov8 and our clients.
